What is fair trade? While it is an ethical standard working on both ends of supply chain for sustainable production and consumption, what does it mean to your business?


We are pleased to conduct our Sustainability Series with a talk by Ms Maria Cheung, Chief Executive of Fair Trade Hong Kong Foundation, who will share with us how fair trade contributes to the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), what it means in our ESG reporting, and how companies or individuals can incorporate fair trade in daily lives.


The Talk will be followed by an optional Coffee Ground Dyeing Workshop for those who join in person. Participants can experience hands-on tie-dying using natural coffee ground.


Not only can participants bring their own upcycled handkerchiefs with beautiful patterns home, but they will also have a glance of fair trade around the world.


To cater for different participants' needs, this workshop can be delivered in-person or via online:



Option 1 – In-person (Talk + Workshop)

Participants will join both the fair trade talk and the coffee ground dyeing workshop.

Participants are welcome to bring family members or friends who can join the talk and workshop at only HK$180 (per guest; same for member or non-member). Children aged 6 or above are also welcome.


Option 2 – Online (Talk only)

Participants will join the fair trade talk only.

    Before her tenure at Fair Trade Hong Kong Foundation, Ms Maria Cheung had worked for several listed companies for almost 30 years and taken up various roles, including image building and employer branding, advertising and promotions, mega-events management, stakeholder engagement, media and investor relations, issues and crisis management, sustainability, as well as forming corporate volunteer teams and some charity foundations. Ms Cheung currently is the Agency for Volunteer Service’s Fundraising and Promotion Committee member, a Director of the Regeneration Charity Foundation, PRPA’s Executive Committee member and a Founding Advisor of The DO School, Hong Kong, a purposeful organization whose headquarters is in Berlin. Between 2012-2015, Ms Cheung was PRPA’s president.
